Testing and re calibration of torque wrenches should be carried out on a regular basis to ensure accuracy. This should only be done by a qualified person in a controlled environment with correct test equipment. Ratchet mechanisms should be stripped, cleaned and lightly lubricated when reassembled. If any wear is apparent a repair kit should be used. Under no circumstances use a torque wrench to undo fasteners. Always use a flexible handle.
